Sweet Crabapple (Malus coronaria) is a charming deciduous tree native to North America, prized for its fragrant flowers and attractive fruit. In late spring, it bursts into bloom with clusters of pink to white flowers that fill the air with a sweet aroma, attracting bees and other pollinators. These blooms are followed by small, yellow-green crabapples that mature in the fall, providing a food source for wildlife and a tart ingredient for making jellies and cider. The tree’s rounded form and dense foliage make it a lovely addition to gardens and naturalized areas. Sweet Crabapple is adaptable to a range of soil types and prefers full sun to partial shade.
