Nothern member of the Rue family An attractive, tall shrub or understory tree, suited to both moist conditions and dry rocky sites. Sweet nectar attracts many species of butterflies. All parts are bitter lemon like aromatic. Fruit is very distinctive, waferlike samara with broad wings.
