Pale-leaved Sunflower
Helianthus strumosus
A common and widespread sunflower of prairies, sandy fields, and oak woodlands throughout Ontario. Like woodland sunflower (Helianthus divaricatus), this species can form dense stands. Ideal for large, open gardens with other prairie species, or along woodland edges where it can be tamed under part shade. Flowers through July and August.
