Large-leaved Aster
Eurybia macrophylla
Aster macrophyllus
Large-leaved Aster, scientifically known as Eurybia macrophylla, is a hardy perennial wildflower characterized by its bold, heart-shaped basal leaves and clusters of lavender to pale purple flowers with yellow centers. Blooming in late summer, it provides valuable late-season nectar for pollinators, including bees and butterflies. This species thrives in shaded, wooded areas and spreads gradually, making it an excellent ground cover for forested landscapes. Its ability to tolerate dry, shaded conditions makes it a resilient choice for naturalized and woodland gardens.
