Wild Leek
Allium tricoccum
This compact plant spreads to form large colonies in undisturbed woodlots. The bulb has the strong odor of garlic and leek. Both the bulb and leaves have long been considered a favorite delicacy in salads and used as a spring tonic. Has whitish blooms in spring. Rare and treatened in Quebec.
